My Rugosa Roses

Rugosas are native to China and Japan. Late in the 18th century, perhaps 1796, they arrived in Britain. They bloom repeatedly and are tough and hardy--therefore well-suited to New England.

Snowdon
Snowdon is a rugosa hybrid.

Therese Bugnet
Therese Bugnet is full and blowsy.

Other rugosas in my garden are Rosa Rugosa, Rosa Rugosa Alba, Roseraie de l'Hay, and Sir Thomas Lipton.
