For research purposes, I spent an entire day at Hampton Court Palace. I've been there several times, but on this visit I covered the palace and grounds inch by inch. Its Tudor history is fascinating, but my primary interest is the period when it was remodelled by King William III and Queen Mary II.

The Tudor kitchens have been re-created for cooking demonstrations. The men at work here are not merely re-enactors, but actual culinary historians, making use of an array of Tudor-era cooking equipment.
The Royal Court--King Henry and Queen Catherine of Aragon and Mistress Anne Boleyn--were visiting Cardinal Wolsey at the Palace while we were there. Here is Wolsey's jester, jesting in the Clock Court.
