When my grandmother was young, travelling across Europe with her sister, they purchased a magnificent Brussels lace veil at this exact location. The facade was probably different then, and now it's a dress shop instead of a lace emporium. That veil has been worn by many generations of family brides: my grandmother, my mother, my aunt, their cousin, her daughter--and me!
You can't visit Brussels without stopping at this famous landmark, the Mannequin Pis. He wasn't wearing any of his outfits at the time we were there.
