Margaret Evans Porter is the author of eleven period novels published in hardcover by Doubleday, Walker, Thorndike and Five Star, and in paperback by Penguin and Avon Books. Her critically acclaimed Regency novels were mass market bestsellers at Waldenbooks, B. Dalton, and Bookrak. Early in her career, the reviewers of Romantic Times Magazine named her Best New Regency Author, and afterwards her books received multiple award nominations for Best Regency Novel. Many foreign editions have been published.
She studied British history in the U.K. and returned to the U.S. to complete her theatre training, and subsequently worked in film and television. After earning her M.A. in Radio-Television-Film, she was a writer and producer for film and video projects.
In addition to fiction, Margaret writes articles on British history and travel, and presents workshops on historical research and writing techniques at national and regional writers’ conferences. She is published in nonfiction as well, and her poetry has been featured in the literary magazine Granite Review.
A member of the Authors Guild, Novelists, Inc, and Romance Writers of America, she is listed in Who's Who in America; Who's Who in Authors, Editors and Poets; and Who’s Who in Entertainment.
She currently spends part of the year in Great Britain and most of it New England, where she and her husband live beside a picturesque woodland pond with their two lively dogs.
