My English Roses

David Austin's modern English Roses resemble the antique varieties in shape and scent, yet have the advantage of recurrent blooms. In creating them, he crossed the once-blooming old rose types with repeat-blooming Hybrid Teas and Floribundas. By so doing, he preserved the shapes--and most importantly--the rich scents of the oldest roses. English Roses come in a spectrum of colours. I prefer the pale and blush pinks, and the whites, with full, old-rose type blossoms.
Mary Rose
Used in the hybridising of the best and strongest of Austin's English Roses, lovely Mary Rose is a treasure in her own right.

Heritage
I planted two Heritage bushes when I moved here 12 years ago, and both are still going strong!

Eglantyne
Eglantyne is as reliable as it is lovely.

Other Austin roses in my garden are Winchester Cathedral, Rédouté, William Morris, Falstaff, and Geoff Hamilton.
