Then I took the Tube to Westminster to see the field of crosses and the conclusion of the remembrance activities.
Tributes in the cathedral cloister.
Personal remembrances of comrades-in-arms.
An officer departing the cathedral service.
The Westminster Choir Boys depart, passing the Bishop of London's motorcar.
The massed crosses on the cathedral lawn,an overpowering sight.
The faces of those who remember...
...are extremely moving.
Section for the Royal Army.
For the Jewish dead, the Star of David. For the Muslims, the Crescent.
On my way from the cathedral to the Cenotaph, I passed Churchill, who led Britain through World War II.
The Salvation Army presentation was the finale of the Remembrance Sunday activities. When they finished, their band played God Save the Queen and all the spectators sang.
Not even infirmity kept retired veterans from participating in the parade.
